Biography

Dr. Fausto is the Medical Director of Palliative Care for UW Medicine and Clinical Operations Chair for the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. He is passionate about health care leadership and completed an Executive Masters in Health Administration at the University of Washington in 2018. In 2019, he was selected to be one of twelve national Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Leadership Scholars, which is a two year leadership development award for palliative care leadership. His professional interests include hospice and palliative medicine, healthcare leadership and medical education


Prior to joining the faculty at UWSOM in 2015, Dr. Fausto earned a bachelors degree from Grinnell College and his M.D. from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency training in family medicine in the Department of Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, followed by a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center - Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Following fellowship training, he joined the Albert Einstein College of Medicine faculty as in the Department of Family and Social Medicine. He held multiple positions during his time at Montefiore Medical Center including Fellowship Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and Medical Director of the Palliative Care Service.
